For the Sugar Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Blend in the dry ingredients from the small bowl.
  5. Roll dough into balls about 1 inch in size, using the palm of your hand to flatten them slightly.
  6. Place on greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Cool on wire rack.

For the Buttercream Icing

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add milk.
  3. If too thick, add a little more milk. If too thin, add a bit more sugar until you reach your desired consistency.
