Ok, so this snow. . .has to go. I do love all of the seasons, but the winter this year is getting to be a bit ridiculous. This is what our grill looks like right now.
I find myself taking trips to the store just to go back to the spring section and spend time with grills that have their covers off and aren’t covered in snow. Anything to get a glimpse into all of the fun that warmer weather brings.
Because right now, the view from our patio doors, just isn’t cutting it.
I’ve decided I just need to start celebrating the arrival of spring very early this year. I need to bring a bit more color into my life. I need to trade in the black and gray clothes in my closet for turquoise and lime green. I need to take the Christmas wreath off my front door and put it back in its case where it belongs.
And I needed to make these:
Rainbow fruit skewers. Perfect for any celebration. . .or even when you just need to get rid of the winter blahs. I made a few variations, but in each skewer, I made sure to incorporate every color of the rainbow:
Rainbow Fruit Skewers
You know, I think I would eat more fruit if I had someone to cut it up for me and make it look, well. . .fun. These skewers actually did make me happy
Ingredients
- Red: Strawberries
- Orange: Cantaloupe
- Yellow: Pineapple
- Green: Honey Dew
- Blue: Blueberries
- Indigo: Alright, not ALL the colors

The skewers definitely were a welcome change to these drab winter colors. Can’t wait until all of the fruit is in season again! Thanks for stopping by, Shauna!
These look so fun! I think I’ll make something like this for my little one’s birthday party coming up. Thanks for joining us at Saturday Night Fever, and I hope to see you back tonight!
What a fun and easy recipe, that can really be used all year long (I’m in Florida so that snow you have looks quite chilly)
I think my kids would love these.
I just created a St Patrick’s Day board just to put great recipes and inspiration like this on it, and what’s better than a rainbow 🙂 Thank you for linking up to our Lovely Ladies link party, I’ve included your fruit skewers in a fabulous round-up on my blog if you’d like to check it out http://bit.ly/1oi8Vbh
