- Olive oil - Celery - Carrots - Ham bone - Marjoram - Basil - Chicken broth - Bay leaves - Split peas - Ham - Potato flakes - Parsley - Dill

Ingredients

Heat olive oil in a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Add onions, celery, carrots and garlic.

Add ham bone to stock pot. Stir in spices, chicken broth, bay leaves and split peas.

Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce to low. Cover and allow to simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove ham bone and bay leaves from soup.

Step 4

Add cooked ham and simmer covered for 30 more minutes or until the majority of the peas have broken down, stirring occasionally.
