Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 7 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Lucky Charms cereal
  • 12 ounces white vanilla candy melts
  • 1 cup bright green vanilla-flavored candy melts

Instructions

  • In a large microwaveable bowl, melt the butter on high for about 30 seconds in the microwave.
  • Add the vanilla extract.
  • Add the mini marshmallows and microwave on high for 60 seconds. Stir. Microwave another 30 seconds or until marshmallows are almost melted. Some lumps are good!
  • Stir in the Lucky Charms cereal.
  • Spread into greased 13x9 inch pan with a greased spatula or your hands.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Heat the white candy melts in a microwaveable bowl according to instructions on bag.
  • Spread over the treats (the icing will be quite thin).
  • Heat the green candy melts in a microwaveable bowl according to instructions on bag.
  • Drop by the teaspoonful onto the treats.
  • Drag a knife through the green melts to create a swirl effect.
  • Allow to cool. Cut into squares.

Notes

  1. Experiment with Flavors: While Lucky Charms cereal adds its distinctive flavor, feel free to experiment with other cereal varieties for unique twists. Try using Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs, or even Rice Krispies for different flavor combinations that suit your taste preferences.
  2. Customize the Colors: Get creative with the candy melt colors to match different themes or occasions. You can use different colors of candy melts to coordinate with holidays, sports teams, or party themes. Consider using pastel colors for spring, red and green for Christmas, or team colors for game-day treats.
  3. Add Texture and Variety: Enhance the texture and flavor of your microwave Lucky Charms treats by incorporating additional mix-ins. Consider adding mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit to the mixture before spreading it into the pan. These additions provide extra crunch and flavor bursts that complement the sweetness of the marshmallow and cereal mixture.
