Instructions

  • Divide popcorn evenly into three medium-sized mixing bowls.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the black candy melts according to instructions on package.
  • Pour the coating over the popcorn in one of the mixing bowls. Stir until well coated.
  • Spread popcorn out on lined baking sheet and add the sprinkles on top. Allow to cool.
  • Repeat steps 2-4 for the orange and green candy melts.
  • Combine the black, orange and green popcorn and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Even Coating: When melting the candy, ensure they are completely melted and smooth to achieve an even coating on the popcorn. Stir the candy melts frequently while they are melting to prevent them from burning or clumping. If needed, add a teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to thin out the candy melts for easier coating.
  2. Creative Presentation: Have fun with the presentation of your Halloween popcorn by adding a variety of Halloween-themed nonpareils or sprinkles. Consider using sprinkles in the shapes of bats, pumpkins, ghosts, or spiders to enhance the spooky theme. You can also mix in candy corn, chocolate chips, or Halloween-themed candies for added texture and flavor.
  3. Allow Ample Cooling Time: After coating the popcorn with the candy melts and sprinkles, allow it to cool completely on the lined baking sheet before combining the different colors. This ensures that the candy coating sets properly and prevents the popcorn from clumping together. Once cooled, gently mix the different colored popcorn in a large bowl for a vibrant and festive Halloween snack.
