Notes
Quality Ground Beef Selection: Opt for ground beef with a higher fat content, such as an 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio, for juicier and more flavorful burgers. The fat content helps keep the burgers moist and prevents them from becoming dry during cooking. Avoid leaner ground beef varieties, as they may result in drier burgers, especially when cooking in the air fryer.
Uniform Patty Thickness: Ensure that the burger patties are formed to a consistent thickness, approximately ½ inch thick, to promote even cooking. Using your hands, gently shape the ground beef mixture into patties, taking care not to overwork the meat, which can lead to tough burgers. Consistent thickness ensures that the burgers cook evenly and reach the desired level of doneness without any undercooked or overcooked spots.
Temperature Monitoring: While air-frying the burgers, monitor the internal temperature to ensure they reach a safe level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burgers. For medium-rare burgers, aim for an internal temperature of 130–135°F (54–57°C), while for medium burgers, aim for 140–145°F (60–63°C). Adjust the cooking time accordingly based on your desired level of doneness to ensure perfectly cooked burgers every time.
