Ingredients

Creamy Cucumber Salad

  • 6-8 Cucumbers Washed Peeled and Sliced
  • ½ Onion Chopped
  • ¼ Cup Sea Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Pepper
  • 3 tablespoon Vinegar
  • ¾ cup Miracle Whip
  • Sprinkle of Dill Weed Optional

Instructions

  • Mix cucumbers with salt and add onion. Cover bowl and refrigerate for at least two hours (preferably overnight).
  • Drain cucumbers and onion.
  • Add garlic pepper, vinegar and Miracle Whip to taste.
  • Sprinkle a little dill weed on top of salad before serving and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Salting Cucumbers: Salting the cucumbers before assembling the salad helps draw out excess moisture, resulting in a crispier and more flavorful salad. However, be sure to rinse the cucumbers thoroughly after draining to remove excess salt, especially if you're sensitive to sodium.
  2. Adjusting Seasonings: Taste the salad after adding the garlic pepper, vinegar, and Miracle Whip, and adjust the seasonings according to your preference. You can add more vinegar for extra tanginess, adjust the amount of garlic pepper for more or less heat, and vary the quantity of Miracle Whip for desired creaminess.
  3. Enhancing Flavor: Consider adding fresh herbs or spices to enhance the flavor profile of the salad. Dill weed, as suggested in the recipe, adds a delightful herbal note that pairs well with cucumbers. You can also experiment with other herbs like parsley, chives, or basil to add freshness and complexity to the dish.
