Best Apple Cake Recipe
Moist and buttery cake filled with chunks of sweet apple and topped with a wonderfully delicious vanilla and brown sugar glaze.

For the Cake:
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cups chopped pecans
- 3 cups peeled and chopped apples
For the Frosting:
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup evaporated milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside
Combine oil, sugar, and eggs.
Stir in flour and baking soda.
Add vanilla, pecans, and apples and stir well.
Spread batter in prepared pan.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until center of cake is set. Cool for 2 hours.
To prepare frosting, add all ingredients to a medium saucepan.
Over medium heat, bring to a boil for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
Set pan in bowl filled with ice water until it thickens.
Beat or mix icing until you are able to spread it.
Spread it over cake and serve.
- ¼ to ½ inch chunks of apple work best for this recipe.
- Granny Smith, Honey Crisp and Pink Lady are my go-to apples for Apple Cake.
- To store leftover cake, place it in the fridge for up to 5 days.
