Ingredients

  • Square pretzels I used Rold Gold Snaps
  • Wilton Candy Melts Orange and black
  • Hershey's Hugs
  • Candy corn mix
  • Candy eyes

Instructions

  • Line a 13"x9" pan with parchment paper.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line up pretzels on top of parchment paper.
  • Top each pretzel square with a Hershey's Hug or candy melt.
  • Place pan in oven for 5-8 minutes, just until the candy begins to soften.
  • Remove from oven and gently press a candy corn or eyeball onto each of the pretzels.
  • Place in the refrigerator to cool.
  • Store in a Ziplock bag or sealed container.

Notes

  1. Gentle Heating: Be careful not to overheat the candy melts or Hershey's Hugs in the oven. They only need to soften, not fully melt. Overheating can cause them to lose their shape or become too runny, making it difficult to press the candy corn or candy eyes onto them.
  2. Quick Assembly: Once you remove the pretzels from the oven, work quickly to press the candy corn or candy eyes onto them while the candy coating is still soft. This will help ensure that the candies adhere well to the pretzels before the coating hardens again as it cools.
  3. Variety and Creativity: Feel free to get creative with your Halloween pretzel treats! Experiment with different combinations of candy melts, pretzel shapes, and toppings to create a variety of spooky designs. You can also involve kids in the decorating process for a fun Halloween activity.
