Pour batter into prepared muffin cups (I like to spray mine with nonstick spray).
Bake for 17-20 minutes.
Notes
Use Ripe Bananas for Flavor: For the best flavor and sweetness in your muffins, use ripe bananas. Ripe bananas not only provide natural sweetness but also add moisture and depth of flavor to the muffins. Look for bananas with brown spots on the peel, indicating ripeness. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your muffins will be.
Avoid Overmixing the Batter: Overmixing the batter can result in dense and tough muffins. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until just combined to avoid overdeveloping the gluten in the flour. Use a gentle hand when incorporating the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until there are no large pockets of flour visible. A few lumps in the batter are okay; they will dissipate during baking.
Prevent Sinking Chocolate Chips: To prevent the chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of the muffins during baking, lightly coat them with flour before folding them into the batter. This helps the chocolate chips adhere to the batter and distribute them more evenly throughout the muffins. Alternatively, reserve a small portion of the chocolate chips and sprinkle them on top of the batter once it's poured into the muffin cups for a more uniform distribution.
