  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chives
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 2-3 hours before serving.

Notes

  1. Consistency Control: Adjust the buttermilk quantity based on your desired consistency. If you prefer a thicker dressing, reduce the amount of buttermilk slightly. Conversely, if you prefer a thinner consistency, you can increase the amount of buttermilk to achieve the desired thickness.
  2. Freshness Matters: For the best flavor, use fresh herbs whenever possible. You can also experiment with different herb combinations to customize the taste of your ranch dressing. Additionally, using high-quality mayonnaise and sour cream will enhance the overall flavor and texture of the dressing.
  3. Flavor Enhancement: Allow the flavors to meld by refrigerating the dressing for a few hours before serving. This resting time allows the herbs and seasonings to infuse into the base ingredients, resulting in a more flavorful and well-balanced dressing. Taste the dressing before serving and adjust the seasonings if necessary to suit your preference.
