Ingredients

  • 3 medium-sized baking potatoes
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Wash potatoes.
  • Slice potatoes very thin (I use a mandoline slicer on the thinnest setting).
  • Using a paper towel, remove any excess moisture from slices.
  • Place them in a single layer in your greased air fryer basket.
  • Season slices with salt and pepper.
  • Air fry at 400º Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.

Notes

  1. Uniform Slicing: Consistency in potato slice thickness is crucial for even cooking. Utilize a mandoline slicer set to the thinnest setting to ensure uniformity, resulting in crispy chips without some being overcooked while others remain undercooked.
  2. Moisture Management: Excess moisture can hinder the crispiness of your potato chips. After slicing, pat the potato slices dry with a paper towel to remove any surface moisture. This step helps in achieving a crispier texture during the air frying process.
  3. Single Layer Placement: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer with some space between each slice. This allows hot air to circulate evenly around each chip, promoting uniform cooking and ensuring that they all achieve a golden, crispy perfection.
