Slice potatoes very thin (I use a mandoline slicer on the thinnest setting).
Using a paper towel, remove any excess moisture from slices.
Place them in a single layer in your greased air fryer basket.
Season slices with salt and pepper.
Air fry at 400º Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes.
Notes
Uniform Slicing: Consistency in potato slice thickness is crucial for even cooking. Utilize a mandoline slicer set to the thinnest setting to ensure uniformity, resulting in crispy chips without some being overcooked while others remain undercooked.
Moisture Management: Excess moisture can hinder the crispiness of your potato chips. After slicing, pat the potato slices dry with a paper towel to remove any surface moisture. This step helps in achieving a crispier texture during the air frying process.
Single Layer Placement: Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer with some space between each slice. This allows hot air to circulate evenly around each chip, promoting uniform cooking and ensuring that they all achieve a golden, crispy perfection.
