Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Small spatula
  • Small funnel
  • Container(s) to put sanitizer in

Materials

  • cup 100% aloe vera gel
  • cup 99% rubbing alcohol isopropyl alcohol or ethanol
  • 8-10 drops essential or fragrance oil optional

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the aloe vera gel with the rubbing alcohol.
  • If preferred, you can add a couple drops of essential or fragrance oil (I didn't add any to mine).
  • Use a funnel to transfer the mixture into your container(s).
  • Squeeze the gel out of the container into the palm of one hand and rub all over the surface of both hands until completely dry.

Notes

Keep hand sanitizer out of the reach of children.
If you can't find 99% rubbing alcohol, you may need to adjust the ratio above to make sure the mixture contains at least 60 percent alcohol.
