Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes
Rich chocolate cupcakes filled with a decadent chocolate chip cookie dough center! Delicious and super easy to make!

For the Cookie Dough
- ½ cup butter softened
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
For the Cupcakes
- 1 18.25 ounce box chocolate cake mix
- 3 eggs
- 1⅓ cups water
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
For the Frosting
- ½ cup butter softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
For the Cookie Dough
In a medium mixing bowl, beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy.
Add egg and vanilla. Beat again.
Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Beat until until dough is uniform.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Form the dough into tablespoon-sized balls.
Place onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze until solid. This will take about 2 hours.
For the Cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit.
Line 24 muffin cups with paper liners.
In a large mixing bowl, beat 3 eggs for 30 seconds.
Add cake mix, water, and oil. Beat until smooth.
Fill each cupcake liner ⅔ full.
Remove cookie dough balls from freezer and place one on each cupcake. Do not push the balls down.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in the cake part of the cupcakes.
For the Frosting
In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar together.
Add the vanilla and 2 tablespoons of milk. Beat or mix well.
If the frosting is too thick, add more milk. If it is too thin, add more powdered sugar.

- Hold off on frosting your cupcakes until the day they’re consumed for best results.
- Store at room temperature for up to three days, or in the fridge for 5 days.
