Preheat oven to 350ºF.
Prepare the cake mixes according to the box directions.
Split the batter equally into four bowls.
Add red gel food coloring to one bowl, creating a rich red color. The amount of food coloring used will vary depending on the brand.
Add a small amount of pink gel food coloring to one bowl, creating a light pink color.
Add pink food coloring and a small amount of red to a third bowl, creating a medium pink color.
Finally, add pink and red to the last bowl, creating a dark pink color.
Note: You can always add more, but you can't take coloring out.
Transfer each bowl of batter into a greased 8-inch round cake pan or 8x8-inch square cake pan.
Bake for 23-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow cakes to cool.
Once cakes are cooled, crumble each cake, setting aside 2 tablespoons of each color for topping.
In a medium bowl, mix whipped cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip until well combined.
To assemble trifle, alternate each color of cake with a layer of cream.
To finish, sprinkle remaining cake crumbs and Valentine sprinkles on top.
Refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
