Notes
Ensure Proper Mixing: When beating together the butter, sugar, eggs, flour, salt, and baking powder, aim for a smooth and consistent batter. Beat for at least 1 minute to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated, resulting in a uniform texture for your bars.
Mind the Marshmallows: When adding the miniature marshmallows to the warm bars, make sure they are evenly distributed. Press them gently into the warm bars to help them adhere. Returning the bars to the oven for 3 minutes helps soften and slightly melt the marshmallows, creating a gooey layer that enhances the texture of the bars.
Careful with the Chocolate Peanut Butter Topping: When melting the chocolate chips with peanut butter for the topping, use low heat and stir frequently to prevent burning or scorching. Once melted, quickly stir in the Krispie cereal until well coated. Spread the mixture evenly over the cooled bars for a deliciously crunchy topping. Allow the topping to set completely before cutting the bars into squares for clean slices.
