Stir in oatmeal and flour to form a dough.
Roll dough to about ¼" thickness and cut with your choice cookie cutter.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 40 minutes.
Notes
Check the Consistency: When forming the dough, ensure it's not too dry or too wet. Adjust the amount of flour or water as needed to achieve a dough that can be easily rolled out without sticking to the surface or crumbling apart. The dough should be pliable and easy to work with for cutting out shapes.
Mind the Spices: While nutmeg and cinnamon can add flavor to the treats, be cautious with the amount used, especially if your dog has a sensitive stomach or any allergies. Start with smaller amounts and observe your dog's reaction. If unsure, consult with your veterinarian before including these spices in your dog's treats.
Store Properly: Since these treats don't contain preservatives, proper storage is crucial to maintaining freshness. Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For a longer shelf life, you can refrigerate or freeze the treats. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving them to your pup.
