Do you send out Christmas cards to your family and friends? I do, but barely. I actually get a bit stressed about it each year. What picture can we use in our card this year, what should the card say, how should it look, color or black and white? I love the "idea" of Christmas cards and I remember as a child watching my mom fill her's out, often writing a personal message in each and every one.
Well, it's confession time. I don't do that. I would love to do that because the people I send my cards to are the ones that I hold very near and dear to my heart. But at my house, just the fact I go online to create a card, get them printed, put the stamps on and mail them is a victory, all in itself.
To those of you who physically "make" your Christmas cards, you're better than me. You win. For those of you who can relate to my situation (I truly hope I'm not alone), I've come up with something that I hope you will find helpful when you're creating your card or cards this year. Heck, even you overachievers who make your own cards, may find some value in this list. I hope you do.
I think at times we all find ourselves in a greeting card slump where we're sitting with the card in front of us and really have to think hard about what to write in it. Here are 85 Christmas Card Sentiments to choose from when writing out your cards this year!
My favorite thing to do is mix and match a few until you come up with something you really like. Have fun with it and please make me feel better by letting me know I'm not the only one who goes through this each year!

Thanks to your help now I can send Xmas cards to all my relatives and friends. They are so many that I always run out of things to say
Sara
I'm so glad this was helpful to you! I still use it every year!

Sara, I'm in an international Christmas card exchange and your list of Christmas sentiments is wonderful. I'll be using many of them. Thank you so much for sharing them with us all. Blessings to you!
Sara
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you very much for all these beautiful and heartfelt sentiments! I can use these on cards I'm making for a craft fair at my church this weekend and beyond. Sale proceeds for the church craft fair go to an orphanage in Haiti and to victims of human trafficking.
Sara
Oh, I'm so glad, Nancy! I hope your craft fair went well!

I found your list of sentiments on Pinterest. I sent out 100 cards this Christmas to family, friends, shut-ins and veterans and your list was invaluable. The sentiments were spot-on especially for those Shut-ins and veterans that I don't really know and wanted to send a heartfelt message. I am sure they appreciated your efforts. I am working on Valentines now. Thank you so much.
Sara
It sounds like you sure brought lots of happiness to those who needed it. THANK YOU for your kindness to our veterans and shut-ins. I do have a post on Valentine's Day sayings as well. They're a bit geared towards kids, but maybe you'll find something you can use. https://bitzngiggles.com/2014/02/50-super-fun-sayings-for-valentines-day.html
God bless!
Janet
Thanks so much for this list. I make my cards, and sentiments are not my forte. I love every one of these. I drop them into Word, change to a Christmas or script font, increase the size, print and die cut into various shapes. Happy holidays.
Sara
We'd make a good pair then, Janet, because making cards is certainly not MY forte. I'm so glad I could help. I can imagine your cards are beautiful!

Thank you so much! Now that I have this help, I might really write some more cards than usual.
😉 a grateful me!
Sara
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you found the sentiments worthwhile!
Daphne
Thank you, Sara! You just plucked some of the stress right out of my head and for that, I am extremely grateful. I've narrowed your offerings to a select few that will work for family and friends with different religious potencies. 🙂 I now LOOK FORWARD to sitting down to complete our holiday cards. YAY! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
Sara
Aww, Daphne. Thank you so very much for such a sweet comment. I'm SO happy that the sentiments helped you get your thoughts together for your own cards. Merry Christmas to you as well!
Valerie Casparian
Thank you, Sara! I used your #32 and I cannot thank you enough! It was the perfect accompaniment to my card this year! I used a vintage picture for the front, plucked from a card that was given to my grandmother in 1967 and one I've kept all these years because of who it was from. It says "A Joyous Christmas" below a cartoon-esque sketch (think The Jetsons, if you're not too young... LOL) drawing of a church with a big steeple covered in snow... on the back are 3 photos: one of me as a little girl, one of my two daughters 11 years ago, and one of my husband as a little boy. Your sentiment "and a well-remembered past" fit very nicely... because I could not think of something to tie in with the front saying. And we close by saying "We hope both are yours this Christmas!" Perfect!!! Thank you so much... Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you! Valerie Casparian
Sara
Valerie, your card sounds absolutely AMAZING! Thank you for your heartfelt comment - it warms MY heart to know that the list of sentiments was worthwhile to you. I just used it myself this week in creating our family's Christmas card. I think that's how the post began. . .because I was in need of something like this, too! Happy Thanksgiving and the Merriest of Christmases to you and your family as well!
