I'm so excited to share these yummy treats with you today because they're made with two of my favorite things, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Oreos. I've been seeing so many fun turkey treats posted all over the Internet lately. Many of them use Reese's PB Cups and many of them use cookies. I decided I was going to make turkeys that used them BOTH! And NO miniature anything. This is the real deal.
The idea popped into my head when I was in the cookie aisle at the grocery store. I found these limited edition MEGA Stuff Oreos. Have you seen these? I knew they would be perfect for making these turkeys and wouldn't need any extra frosting inside of the cookie to hold the candy corn pieces.
Just look at these Mega Stuff Oreos! Even more creamy goodness in each and every bite. Perfect for this turkey craft!
For each turkey you'll need: one Mega Stuff Oreo, two Reese's PB cups, 10 pieces of candy corn, two candy eyeballs and some frosting for the "glue." I just used the frosting in a jar you can buy from the baking aisle in the grocery store.
The first thing you want to do is take your Oreo and put some frosting on one of the sides. If you have chocolate frosting, that would be ideal since the color would blend in a bit more with the Oreo. I only had vanilla frosting in the house the day I made these. Whatever you use, they are sure to taste awesome either way.
Then take a Reese's PB cup and stick it to the top. Do the same to the other side. I think I could just eat this right now. I want you to know that through this entire project I didn't eat anything but a couple bites of candy corn. I'll let you know when that happened in a minute.
Now take your candy corn pieces and insert nine of them into the cream in the Oreo, working from one side all the way to the other side. For a few of these, I actually started putting the candy corn pieces in the Oreo before I put the frosting and Reese's PB cups on. It worked both ways, so do whatever you like best. If you have hot hands, you may want to do the frosting and chocolate after you have the candy corn pieces in the Oreo. Just sayin'.
Here's where you get the eyeballs out, or in my case, spill all of the eyeballs. I sure hope I found them all. I have a feeling there's an eyeball still hiding under my couch. Don't worry. This is very typical for my projects. There's always something to laugh about, even when I'm by myself. Should I be concerned about that?
Now put a little of the frosting on the back of each of the eyeballs and stick them on the front of the peanut butter cup.
Now take your final piece of candy corn and chop off the top and bottom so you're left with a little piece like this. Here's where I had a little taste and ate the ends of the candy corn I cut off. That was just enough to get me through the rest of the project.
And there you have it, a sweet, silly turkey treat. And yes, I know you can see some of the frosting seeping out from behind his eyes. Yes, chocolate frosting would have been better! But you know what? It's ok. When I showed these treats to the kids they were through-the-roof excited. It didn't matter the turkey had a little eye goo. They didn't even notice.
Now, how cute would these little guys be to serve after dinner on Thanksgiving Day or maybe put in little boxes or bags and give to your neighbors as a gift? If you wanted, you could even make them into turkey pops!
Bottom line is, have fun making these! Whomever you give these to is sure to "gobble" them right up!

Notes
- Secure Assembly with Frosting: Use frosting to attach the Reese's PB cups to the Mega Stuff Oreo cookies. This ensures that the turkey treats hold together well and provides an adhesive for the other decorations.
- Creativity with Candy Corn: Arrange nine candy corn pieces into the frosting on each Oreo to create the turkey's colorful tail feathers. Experiment with different color combinations or patterns to add variety and visual interest to your treats.
- Detailing with Candy Eyes: Apply a small amount of frosting to the back of each candy eyeball before sticking them onto the Reese's PB cups. This helps the eyes stay in place and adds personality to your turkey treats. Adjust the positioning and expressions of the eyes to give each turkey its own unique character.

When you said to put the eyeball on the Oreo you meant to put it on the Reese's cup right?
