Want to Save This Recipe?
Even though the Packers don't have a chance to get to the Super Bowl this year, it doesn't mean we won't be watching the game. Scratch that. It doesn't mean my husband won't be watching the game. I will be present for the food.
When it comes to football/Super Bowl parties, simple food is best. Imagine college kids searching the Internet the day of the game looking for quick and simple appetizer recipes. They're not going to attempt anything that has more than five ingredients. I've been there and know this to be true. That's why the recipe I'm sharing today has no more than, two. Can I even call it a recipe? Maybe not, but if you don't tell anyone how you made it, they'll think that you spent much more time on it then you really did.
Here's what you'll need to whip up this simple chip dip:
I'm not even going to list ingredients out in this post because we're basically talking about two ingredients, people, in addition to your chips. You could also just eat it by the spoonful, but chips may be a better choice. Once you make this you'll never forget how to do it. I feel kind of silly writing a tutorial for this, but tutorials are fun, right? Right.
Start by browning a pound of ground beef in a non-stick skiller and drain when the beef is cooked through.
Now pour the queso sauce in. Glob. Glob. I know, I know. This isn't the healthiest thing in the world, but it tastes really good and it goes over well at parties. If you have kids in high school or college, teach them how to make this and they'll love you forever.
Mix in the sauce around until the beef is well-covered. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring every so often to avoid the film that likes to form over the top of dips like this.
Once the dip is heated through and the flavors begin to soak into the ground beef, you can either continue to simmer this on low over the stove or transfer to a crockpot. I always tend to transfer mine to a crockpot and use a crockpot liner for easier clean up once the party is over.
Now get your chips! We've found Frito Scoops are the ticket for this dip. I've also used Tostitos. Then. . . chomp away. Easiest. Dip. Ever. Hope this dip is on your list for the big game!
The Easiest Queso Dip. . .Ever
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- queso sauce
Instructions
- Start by browning a pound of ground beef in a non-stick skiller and drain when the beef is cooked through.
- Pour the queso sauce in.
- Mix in the sauce around until the beef is well-covered.
- Let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring every so often to avoid the film that likes to form over the top of dips like this.
- Once the dip is heated through and the flavors begin to soak into the ground beef, you can either continue to simmer this on low over the stove or transfer to a crockpot.
Notes
- Choose Quality Queso Sauce: The flavor of your queso dip heavily relies on the quality of your queso sauce. Opt for a high-quality brand or make your own for the best results.
- Simmer Slowly for Flavor: Allow the dip to simmer for at least 30 minutes to meld the flavors together and ensure the beef is thoroughly infused with the cheesy goodness. Low and slow cooking helps develop a richer taste.
- Prevent Film Formation: Stir the dip occasionally while simmering to prevent a film from forming over the top. This ensures a smooth and creamy texture throughout your queso dip, enhancing its overall appeal.
