I'm gonna' say it and hopefully I don't jinx it. . .spring has officially sprung! Plants are slowly popping up, the grass is getting greener and every weekend now our little community here in Wisconsin is buzzing with all sorts of events and gatherings.
As the weather warms up and the days get longer, one of the things I look forward to are our local carnivals and fairs around the area. Some of my favorite fair food "eats" are cheese curds, elephant ears, and deep fried Oreos.
Well, today, we're making a "little" (notice I say little) healthier version of the deep fried Oreos. Air fryer fried Oreos are made without grease or oil and they're a treat the entire family will enjoy!
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
When making your Oreos, you'll want to dunk the cookie in milk first to soften the Oreo up a little before wrapping it in the crescent roll dough.
Make sure all seams in the crescent dough are sealed completely.
Now, when I say these "deep fried" Oreos are made without grease or oil, that's mostly true. The only oil you'll need is a spritz or two just to grease your air fryer basket.
I like to fry four at a time so I'm not crowding the basket. After only 4 minutes of air frying, these Oreos are ready and they're the most beautiful golden brown.
Sprinkle them with powdered sugar and then call the family into the kitchen to indulge!
It's really love at first bite. I mean, if I'm going to fry a cookie, it's always going to be an Oreo.
WHAT OTHER OREO FLAVORS COULD YOU TRY?
I chose the classic Oreo, but you could easily substitute ANY flavor of Oreo you would like:
If you're feeling super adventurous, why not try a double stuffed Oreo or stick a few chocolate chips on the top of the Oreo before wrapping it in the dough?!
My point is, you can be creative with these air fryer Oreos. As long as Oreos are around (and they will be for a VERY long time) the flavor options are pretty much endless.
I can't wait for you to try this easy, 4-ingredient, treat in your air fryer!

Air Fryer Oreos Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 oz. tube Crescent rolls
- 8 Oreos
- milk for dunking
- powdered sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Cut roll of Crescent rolls into 8 sections.
- Roll one section into a ball and then flatten it on a nonstick surface into an oval shape.
- Dip one Oreo in the milk quickly.
- Place Oreo on flattened dough and fold ends around, covering the Oreo. Make sure all seams are sealed completely.
- Repeat for remaining Oreos.
- Preheat air fryer to 375º Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- Air fry 4 Oreos for 4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Repeat steps 7 and 8 with remaining Oreos.
Notes
- Proper Sealing is Key: Ensure that the Crescent roll dough completely covers the Oreos and that all seams are tightly sealed to prevent any filling from leaking out during the cooking process. This will help maintain the integrity of the Oreos and prevent a messy outcome.
- Even Cooking: Arrange the Oreos in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded. This allows for proper air circulation and ensures even cooking and browning. If needed, cook the Oreos in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
- Mind the Temperature and Time: Preheating the air fryer before adding the Oreos helps ensure they cook evenly and achieve a crispy exterior. Additionally, keep a close eye on the Oreos towards the end of the cooking time to prevent them from over browning. Adjust the cooking time as needed based on your air fryer's performance and the desired level of crispiness.

Delicious! I only have a wire rack in mine so the bottoms wanted to stick when done, even with cooking spray on it. But the family loved them!
