Get ready for summer fabulous Easter fun!

HOW TO MAKE EASTER BUNNY DONUTS

To create these cute Easter donuts, you'll need:

    • Vanilla iced donuts
    • Powdered donut holes
    • Cake balls from my Easter Cake Pops recipe
    • Jumbo marshmallows
    • Pink sanding sugar
    • Toothpicks
    • Candy eyeballs
    • Vanilla frosting
    • Pink M&Ms
    • Pink pearl Sixlets
    • Food coloring pen

These cute little bunnies are so adorable, people will have a hard time believing they didn't come from a bakery! Although they look complicated to make, they are actually pretty simple and a fun activity for the whole family.

    Follow the steps below!

CREATING THE BUNNY NOSES AND EARS

    steps for making bunny donuts
    1. Set aside the 4 vanilla-iced donuts on a plate.
    2. Place the pink Easter cake balls  inside the hole of two of the donuts (see step #1 of image below for visual guidance).
Note: When making the cake balls from the Cake Pops recipe, add a couple drops of pink food coloring to the melted white chocolate after completing step #8 in the recipe.
    3. Cut the ends off of the jumbo marshmallows using a kitchen shears, creating 4 "ears."
    4. Add pink standing sugar to the sticky side of the 4 ears.

ASSEMBLING THE BUNNY FRONTS AND BACKS

    steps for making bunny donuts

FOR THE FRONTS OF THE BUNNIES

    1. Push a toothpick halfway into the bottom end of the ears and attach them to the donuts with the other end of the toothpick. Gently fold the marshmallows to create the look of an ear.

    2. Affix candy eyeballs to donuts with a small amount of frosting and use the food coloring pen to draw whiskers and any other eye expressions you'd like (refer to photos below for example of alternative wink expression).

FOR THE BACKS OF THE BUNNIES

    3. To make the feet, cut the ends off of 2 jumbo marshmallows using a kitchen shears. Push an M&M and 4 pink Sixlets onto the sticky side of each foot.

    4. Using toothpicks, secure the marshmallows to the last two donuts, creating the feet. Place a powdered donut hole in the middle of donuts and create the ears in the same way you did for the front of the bunny with the exception of adding the pink sanding sugar. Push a toothpick halfway into the bottom end of the ears, then into donuts, this time, sticky side down.

HOW MANY BUNNIES DOES THIS RECIPE MAKE?

This recipe will make 4 Easter bunnies. However, you can easily triple the recipe (amount of marshmallows, candy, etc. needed) especially if you buy a dozen donuts and donut holes.

WHERE DO I FIND A FOOD COLORING PEN?

Food coloring pens can be found in craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michaels or you can just order one off of Amazon (because Amazon has EVERYTHING)☺️.

HOW LONG WILL EASTER BUNNY DONUTS STAY FRESH?

If you'd like to make your Easter bunny donuts ahead of time, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. I wouldn't make the bunnies more than a day ahead of time to ensure the marshmallows don't dry out.
