SO, WHAT IS A CHEESE DANISH?

Before you get started, make sure to grab the following ingredients:
- Refrigerated crescent rolls

PREPARING THE CRESCENT ROLL CRUST:

- Prepare icing by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and ½ teaspoon vanilla together.
- Drizzle icing over top.
- Cut and serve.
TIPS FOR MAKING A PILLSBURY CRESCENT ROLL BREAKFAST CHEESE DANISH
- To prevent the filling from pouring out the sides of the danish, make sure to not put too much cream cheese filling in the pastry.
- While working with one can of the dough, keep the other can in the refrigerator until ready to use. The pastry dough is easiest to work with when it's cold.
- In place of a powdered sugar glaze, you could opt for a fruit syrup or chocolate syrup sweetened with maple syrup or honey.
- Enhance the flavor by incorporating strawberry or raspberry jam alongside the cream cheese for a delightful taste experience!
WHAT OTHER INGREDIENTS CAN I ADD TO A CHEESE DANISH?
This cheese danish is super easy to customize and tastes delicious with a variety of add-ins.
Many people use jams, jellies, and pie fillings such as cherry, apple, blueberry, blackberry, orange zest, and apricot in their danishes. Adding fresh fruit is also a great way to change up the recipe.
WHAT IS THE BEST CHEESE TO ADD TO A CHEESE DANISH?
In this recipe, we use plain cream cheese and mix it with powdered sugar, egg yolk, egg white milk and vanilla extract.
Cream cheese works wonderfully in desserts due to its smooth texture and gentle taste.
CAN I MAKE A HOMEMADE CHEESE DANISH AHEAD OF TIME?
The filling can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen ahead of time; just make sure to defrost before serving!
HOW DO YOU STORE A HOMEMADE CHEESE DANISH?
This cheese danish tastes best immediately after baking, but it can also be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
CAN YOU FREEZE A BREAKFAST CHEESE DANISH?
A homemade cheese danish can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for 3-4 weeks. Defrost at room temperature for 2-3 hours before heating and serving.
