It's Christmas Eve and one of my favorite times of the year. It's such a special time - preparing for Jesus' birthday, spending time with family, baking cookies, opening gifts and drinking some amazing hot chocolate.
There are so many ways to enjoy hot chocolate besides just the traditional way. From spiked hot chocolate to mint flavored hot chocolate, I love them all! But, this delicious frozen hot chocolate is probably one of my favorites!
If you love hot cocoa, you’ll love this frozen twist. Made with only 3-ingredients and topped with shaved chocolate and whipped cream, it’s a hot chocolate lover's delight. It’s sure to become a new family favorite!
HOW TO MAKE EASY FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE
To make this frozen hot chocolate, you'll need:
- Ice
- Milk
- Nestle hot chocolate mix
- Whipped topping
- Shaved chocolate
Once you've gathered your ingredients, you are already halfway done with this recipe! It's so easy!
Simply place your ice, milk, and Nestle hot chocolate mix into a blender. I suggest a high powered blender like a Ninja or similar. The better the blender, the creamier your hot chocolate will be!
Blend everything on high for several minutes or until it’s smooth and creamy.
Transfer your frozen hot chocolate to a glass and top it with whipped topping and shaved chocolate. You can also add festive sprinkles or even a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT COCOA MIX?
Yes! Feel free to use your favorite hot chocolate mix in this recipe. I prefer Nestle, but whatever mix you enjoy or have on hand will work.
You can also use a dark or even white chocolate mix for this recipe!
WHAT OTHER TOPPINGS COULD BE ADDED?
The fun thing about this recipe is that you can add your favorite toppings! Whipped cream on top is almost a must!
Then you can add things such as shaved chocolate or chocolate curls, sprinkles, crushed candy bars, marshmallows or even a sprinkle of your favorite winter time spice.
CAN YOU STORE ANY LEFTOVERS?
Just like soft serve ice cream or a milkshake, this delicious treat doesn’t store very well. I recommend only making what you think you'll be able to drink.
If you do by chance have any leftovers, you can place the chocolate in a pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator for a couple hours.
If you need to store it longer, place it in the freezer in an airtight container for up to a week. Let it thaw and re-blend.
