I have such a fun dog treat recipe to share with you today! Remember those Banana Pup Pops that got everyone excited? Well, they're back, but in pumpkin form! With Thanksgiving just a few days away, it only makes sense that we take some time to make some treats for the fur babies that we're thankful for!
Always loyal, forever happy and able to give 110% of their pure love to us each and every day, our pups deserve a little treat, don't you think?
I promise this one is easy, and it's the perfect time of year to make them especially with the leftover pumpkin you may have from all of those pies you plan to bake!
Making Pumpkin Pup Pops
Ingredients
- 1 can 100% pure pumpkin
- ½ cup natural peanut butter
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 12 paper cups
- 12 rawhide sticks
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix all three ingredients together until smooth.
- Place paper cups on baking sheet (make sure to make enough room in your freezer to hold the baking sheet)
- Fill each paper cup with the pumpkin mixture.
- Place a rawhide stick in the middle of each cup.
- Freeze overnight.
All you need to make these treats are three ingredients and some rawhide twists! They come together in minutes. The hardest part is waiting for them to freeze. Just ask Belle.
You literally mix the three ingredients together, pour into these little cups. . .
Make sure everything is tasting right. . .
Stick in a rawhide stick. And freeze (like don't stop doing what you're doing - not that kind of freeze - place these babies in the freezer).
Quick Tip: Make room in the freezer for the cookie sheet before you start making your pumpkin pup pops.
In about 24 hours, you'll have these. . .
Creamy, pumpkiny (yes, I know that's not a word) and oh so delicious.
Your pup is going to be so thankful.

Notes
- Check Ingredients: Ensure the ingredients used are safe for dogs. Opt for natural peanut butter without xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. Additionally, choose plain yogurt without added sugars or artificial sweeteners. Pure pumpkin without added spices or sugars is also preferable for this recipe.
- Paper Cup Size: When choosing paper cups, consider their size in relation to your dog's size. For smaller dogs, smaller cups may be more appropriate to avoid overfeeding. Conversely, for larger dogs, larger cups can be used to make bigger pup pops. Adjust the portion size accordingly to suit your dog's dietary needs.
- Rawhide Stick Safety: Monitor your dog while they enjoy the pup pops, especially when consuming the rawhide stick. Rawhide can pose a choking hazard or cause digestive issues if ingested in large pieces. Consider substituting the rawhide stick with a safer alternative, like bully sticks or silicone chew sticks, if you have concerns about rawhide safety.

They all look so great and delicious , my dog will definitely love them. !
The only problem i have with them , is the raw hide sticks. , raw hide is very bad for dogs , and most vets now don't recommend them for the good of their health , several dogs , i know had to have surgery to have raw hide removed from their throat and stomach , so , just a warning , it's been proven that they r bad , thanks for the great recipes , but i won't give my dog the raw hide. !!

Hi Donna, I know other dog owners who feel the same way you do. You could try Dingo dental sticks or something similar as well! Otherwise, just put the pup pop in a bowl and let your dog eat it that way.

Hi I'm Ambrelyn and I just made some new dog treats and my little puppy loves them and all it took was some peanut butter and you put them in a ice tray then put them in the freezer and wait 2 hours and feed your dog 1 but you should feed it 1 a day and that's all.
Sara
What a quick and simple treat! Thanks for sharing, Ambrelyn!

These pup pops sound yummy for my dogs but one is susceptible to pancreatitis. So is there some other ingredient i can usr to replace the peanut butter?
Sara
Hmmm. . .maybe pumpkin seed butter? I've never used it in any of my treats but I do know dog owners who do. You can get it through Amazon.
