I go a little crazy over dips. I'm a finger food type of gal. If you see me at a party, I'll be hanging out around the food table. The next day I hardly eat anything at all because of the "graze fest" that took place the night before. I'll be the first to admit I have a problem. The other problem I've admitted before here on the blog and I'll admit again is I'm not a big fan of fruit. I'm trying to eat more and the blog is definitely helping me try new things, but my love for fruit still has a long way to go.

If you're wondering whether or not you should throw the cookies into the food processor or just do it the way I did with the rolling pin, I would choose the latter. The larger chunks of cookies literally make the dip.
Just to let you know, the recipe actually makes quite a bit. You may find yourself consuming the other half of the dip that didn't fit into your serving bowl. I wonder if I could serve this as a salad with the apple slices cut up and mixed right in? What do you think? Too over the top?
I'll let you know if I try it. If I do, you can certainly expect me to post about it. It's kind of like Snickers Salad without the Snickers - throw in some animal cookies instead? Hmmm. Let me think about it while I eat the rest of my apple. I may need a bit more dip for that!
Circus Animal Cookie Dip
Ingredients
- 1 box white or Funfetti cake mix
- 2 cups Cool Whip
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt
- 2 cups circus animal cookies (crushed)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the cake mix in with the yogurt.
- Fold in the Cool Whip.
- Add the animal cookies and mix.
- Chill for at least 2 hours.
- Top with sprinkles and a few cookies before serving.
- Serve with apple slices.
Notes
- For a fun twist, you can use different flavors of animal cookies, such as chocolate or frosted varieties.
- This dip can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
Denedra
I made this for a bbq and everyone loved it! Do you have any idea how many calories or what a serving would be? My calorie counting coworkers want to know (:
Sara
Ooh, Denedra, I don't. Who's counting calories at a BBQ anyway?! LOL Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
