It's officially the start of Memorial Weekend and I don't know about you, but I'm so ready to get summer underway. Bring on the backyard BBQs, flip flops, lake fun and warm summer nights!

Today I'm sharing the recipe for this super simple No Bake Cherry Torte. It's a delicious dessert that's easy to prepare, especially when it’s too hot to bake.

The torte comes together with only 3 ingredients: store-bought pound cake, sweet cherry pie filling and Cool Whip topping. Then, it's finished off with patriotic red, white and blue sprinkles.

HOW TO MAKE NO BAKE CHERRY TORTE

To make this simple, patriotic dessert, you'll need:

    • Loaf of pound cake
    • Cherry pie filling
    • Cool Whip
    • Red, white and blue sprinkles

When you have your ingredients together, you can start putting the torte together. You'll be finished in no time at all!

First, you are going to cut the loaf of pound cake in 3 equal parts horizontally.

Place the bottom layer on the serving plate.

Now, spread half of the cherry pie filling over the bottom layer of the pound cake.

Place the second layer of pound cake on top of the cherry pie filling.

Then, you are going to spread the remaining pie filling over the second layer of pound cake.

Sprinkle the whole torte with red, white and blue sprinkles. If you're making this at a different time of year, just adjust the color of sprinkles!

Now, the best part is slicing into this beauty. How gorgeous is this?!

CAN I USE HOMEMADE POUND CAKE?

You sure can. It’s best to make the pound cake the day before so that all you have to do is toss everything together.

Or, you could also buy a boxed pound cake mix and bake that as well.

    CAN I USE FRESH CHERRIES?

Yes you can, although you would need to bake them down with sugar to get the same consistency as the canned cherry pie filling.

CAN I USE OTHER FRUIT FILLINGS?

You can use other fruit that can be made into a pie filling or comes pre-made in a can as pie filling (like the cherry filling used in this recipe). Apple or blueberry would be great substitutions.

You can find the pre-made pie fillings in the baking aisle.

    HOW DO I STORE LEFTOVERS?

Store the torte or any leftover slices in a storage container in the fridge. It will keep fresh for about 5 to 7 days.

Friends and family will love this super easy and delicious dessert and you'll love the fact it only takes minutes to prepare!
