Are you ready for Christmas? I think I've finally finished wrapping the last gift and all that's left is the food! While I absolutely look forward to the main course, it's sometimes what comes after the meal that can get me pretty excited, too.
Today, I'm sharing a recipe for Mint Oreo Pudding Shots. If you like Grasshoppers or anything that tastes like Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies, you're in for a treat.
Now, just so we're all on the same page here, this is for adults only ?. I just want to make that clear.
If you do want to make these kid-friendly, skip the Creme de Menthe and just use some milk and peppermint extract.
OR you could just crush some mint Oreo cookies and add some milk to the recipe instead of using the Creme de Menthe, too.
Or, you could just make these delicious parfaits for the kiddos.
Lots of options. Now onto the main recipe!
Mixing the Pudding Shots
These pudding shots are super easy to make. Start by whisking together the pudding milk and Creme de Menthe.
Add in the Cool Whip and whisk it all together.
I ended up transferring the mixture to a batter bowl.
If I was thinking, I would have just used the batter bowl from the beginning. The batter bowl makes it much easier to pour the pudding mixture into individual shot glasses or cups.
You can see that the mixture has thickened a bit but it's definitely still "pourable."
There are various containers you could put these in:
- 1 ounce plastic shot glasses with lids
- 2 ounce plastic cups with lids (these are the same type of container you'd use for JELL-O shots)
- 1 ounce plastic shot glasses w/o lids
For these photos, I just used various sizes of glass shot glasses, but at the end of the post, you'll get a glimpse at the disposable shot glasses I used for the rest of them.
Just look at that crushed Oreo garnish on top of each shot. It's such a nice finishing touch.
Another tip for you. . .if you plan to make these pudding shots, pair each shot with a little spoon.
Or just consume them as you would a JELL-O shot. . .use your tongue.?Easy.
Fill up a platter with these pudding shots over the holiday season and you'll have some happy guests.
Here's to a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy your time with family and friends.
