Are you ready for Christmas? I think I've finally finished wrapping the last gift and all that's left is the food! While I absolutely look forward to the main course, it's sometimes what comes after the meal that can get me pretty excited, too.

Today, I'm sharing a recipe for Mint Oreo Pudding Shots. If you like Grasshoppers or anything that tastes like Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies, you're in for a treat.

Now, just so we're all on the same page here, this is for adults only ?. I just want to make that clear.

If you do want to make these kid-friendly, skip the Creme de Menthe and just use some milk and peppermint extract.

OR you could just crush some mint Oreo cookies and add some milk to the recipe instead of using the Creme de Menthe, too.

Or, you could just make these delicious parfaits for the kiddos.

Lots of options. Now onto the main recipe!

    Mixing the Pudding Shots

These pudding shots are super easy to make. Start by whisking together the pudding milk and Creme de Menthe.

Add in the Cool Whip and whisk it all together.

I ended up transferring the mixture to a batter bowl.

If I was thinking, I would have just used the batter bowl from the beginning. The batter bowl makes it much easier to pour the pudding mixture into individual shot glasses or cups.

You can see that the mixture has thickened a bit but it's definitely still "pourable."

There are various containers you could put these in:

    • 1 ounce plastic shot glasses with lids
    • 2 ounce plastic cups with lids (these are the same type of container you'd use for JELL-O shots)
    • 1 ounce plastic shot glasses w/o lids

For these photos, I just used various sizes of glass shot glasses, but at the end of the post, you'll get a glimpse at the disposable shot glasses I used for the rest of them.

Just look at that crushed Oreo garnish on top of each shot. It's such a nice finishing touch.

Another tip for you. . .if you plan to make these pudding shots, pair each shot with a little spoon.

Or just consume them as you would a JELL-O shot. . .use your tongue.?Easy.

Fill up a platter with these pudding shots over the holiday season and you'll have some happy guests.

    Ingredients

    • 4.2 ounce box cookies 'n creme instant pudding
    • ¾ cup milk
    • ¾ cup Creme de Menthe
    • 8 ounce tub Cool Whip
    • Oreo cookies (crushed (for garnish))

    Instructions

    • Whisk together the instant pudding, milk, and Creme de Menthe until combined.
    • Add Cool Whip a little at a time; whisk together.
    • Pour or spoon the mixture into disposable shot glasses or 2 ounce cups with lids.
    • Place in freezer for at least 2 hours.

    Notes

    1. Balancing Ingredients: When mixing the pudding shot ingredients, consider adjusting the amount of Creme de Menthe to achieve your desired level of mint flavor. You can add more or less, depending on how strong you want the mint taste to be.
    2. Texture and Consistency: Ensure that the Cool Whip is fully incorporated into the pudding mixture to achieve a smooth and creamy texture. Take your time when whisking to avoid any lumps and to evenly distribute the whipped topping.
    3. Garnish with Flair: When garnishing with crushed Oreo cookies, consider adding them just before serving rather than before freezing. This maintains their crunchiness and prevents them from becoming soggy. It also adds a nice visual appeal to each pudding shot.
