Ninja Foodi Egg Bites – Egg bites that taste just like the ones at Starbucks, but they’re made right at home in your Ninja Foodi or pressure cooker. Add your choice of ingredients for a delicious, portable breakfast!

If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you may have seen that I recently launched my first digital cookbook, The Beginner’s Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker Cookbook – Main Course Favorites. I had so much fun putting it together and I’ve learned so much about my Foodi in the process.

I’ve also been having quite a bit of fun trying out different accessories for the Foodi. For the egg bites recipe I’m sharing today, I used this silicone mold. It’s super simple to use and the egg bites pop right out.

So, if you’re ready for a quick delicious breakfast, let’s get to making these egg bites!

HOW TO MAKE NINJA FOODI EGG BITES:

To make egg bites in your Ninja Foodi, you’ll need:

  • Eggs
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ham
  • Mushrooms
  • Tomatoes
  • Green onions
  • Cheddar cheese 
  • Water

Start by pouring some heavy cream into a bowl with your eggs.

Add in the salt and pepper.

And mix!

Now add in your meat, veggies and cheese. I love the combination specified in the recipe, but you can really throw whatever you’d like into the egg mixture.

WHAT OTHER INGREDIENTS COULD I ADD TO EGG BITES?

This list could be a mile long, but some of my favorites are:

  • Spinach
  • Corn
  • Sausage
  • Bell pepper
  • Bacon
  • Salsa
  • Crumbled feta or mozzarella cheese

Once your egg mixture is ready, spray your mold and the cover with olive oil or nonstick cooking spray. Use a cookie dough scoop to fill each cup with the mixture.

Leave about 1/4 of space at the top of each cup and place the cover on top of the silicone mold. If your mold does not have a cover, you can use aluminum foil.

Add two cups of water to the cooking pot and place the mold on top of your rack (in the lower position) in the Ninja Foodi.

WHY COVER THE EGG BITES IN THE PRESSURE COOKER?

Why do you need to cover the egg bites? Well, if you don’t, extra water will end up sitting on the top of your eggs from the steam. The egg bites won’t cook quite right and the texture will be strange. So. . .cover those bites! 

Grab the pressure cooking lid for your Foodi and making sure the valve is set to VENT, select STEAM and set the time for 12 minutes.

When the timer has counted down and the egg bites are ready, remove the pressure cooking lid and allow the egg bites to cool a few minutes.

When you’re ready, they should POP right out!

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED SERVING SIZE FOR EGG BITES?

I would say 2-3 egg bites per person. If you’re using more meat than veggies, 2 egg bites would probably be sufficient to fill you up! The recipe makes 14 egg bites, so technically, two molds worth.

HOW LONG DO EGG BITES KEEP?

Egg bites can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. When you’re ready to reheat them, pop them into the microwave for about 30 seconds.

CAN I FREEZE EGG BITES?

Yes you can! Cool the egg bites completely, wrap each bite in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer bag.

If you plan to eat them within the next couple weeks, wrapping them individually before placing them in the freezer bag may not be necessary. That step is to ensure the individual bites do not get freezer burnt.

HOW DO YOU REHEAT FROZEN EGG BITES?

Remove the plastic wrap from the egg bite, wrap in a paper towel and heat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or until heated through.

You could also opt to thaw them in the fridge overnight and then just warm them in the microwave for 30-60 seconds.

Ninja Foodi Egg Bites – Egg bites that taste just like the ones at Starbucks, but they’re made right at home in your Ninja Foodi or pressure cooker. Add your choice of ingredients for a delicious, portable breakfast!

  • Yield: 14 egg bites 1x

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup of each of the following:
    • Ham, diced
    • Mushrooms, chopped
    • Tomatoes, diced
    • Green onions, chopped
    • Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper together.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Prepare mold and cover by spraying with olive oil or nonstick cooking spray.
  4. Fill each cup in the mold with the egg mixture about a 1/4 inch from the top.
  5. Place cover on the mold.
  6. Put the Ninja Foodi rack into the cooking pot in the low position.
  7. Pour 2 cups of water into the cooking pot.
  8. Place the covered mold on the rack.
  9. Put the pressure lid on and turn the pressure valve to VENT.
  10. Select the STEAM option and set timer to 12 minutes.
  11. When done, take the lid off and allow the egg bites to cool a few minutes.
  12. Pop the egg bites out of the mold when ready.

    Hi Sara! These look amazing!!! I don’t have a Ninja Foodie, I have a standard InstaPot – do you know how many minutes I would cook these bites in that IP? And, would I immediately release or natural release for a few minutes? Thank you!!!!!

      Hi Wendy! If you have an Instant Pot, you can follow the recipe exactly. Since you’ll be using the steam function, you don’t have to worry about the release (that’s only if you were using the pressure cooker setting).
