When it comes to summertime, one of things I really look forward to is weekends with a frozen drink in my hand. I used to only associate frozen drinks with cruises or all-inclusive vacations. They seemed like a lot of work and effort and I'd rather have someone else make them for me.
Well, let me tell you what. . .I don't feel like that anymore! Making them is really quite simple and I'm so excited to share this Frosé recipe with you today. It's made with only 5 ingredients and it's so delicious and refreshing!
WHAT IS A FROSÉ?
A Frosé is a deliciously fruity cocktail made with frozen fruit and Rosé wine. It's fruity, slightly sweet, and can be super dangerous if you’re not careful! It’s kind of like a slushie for grown ups! You can whip them together in minutes and are absolutely perfect for those hot summer days.
Are you ready to get started? Let's make this drink, my friend!
HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY & WATERMELON FROSÉ
To make this Frosé, you'll need:
- Frozen strawberries and watermelon
- Ice
- Rosé wine
- Sugar
Ready to make this simple but amazing drink? Let's take it step by step.
Once you have the strawberries and watermelon in the blender, add the sugar.
Now one quick note about blenders - it's good to have a blender that specializes in ice crushing if you plan to make a lot of frozen drinks - like this one or this one. We make so many frozen drinks up north that we even purchased one of these for the lake house. It's AWESOME!
Add the Rosé wine to the blender.
Then add two cups of ice.
Blend all of ingredients until smooth.
Garnish with fresh fruit and serve immediately!
CAN YOU USE A WINE OTHER THAN ROSÉ?
A Frose’ is called a Frose’ because it uses Rose’ wine to make it into a slushie (frozen + Rose’ wine = Frose’). However, if you would like a sweeter cocktail, you could use Moscato wine instead and follow the same steps.
CAN I MAKE THIS NON-ALCOHOLIC?
Absolutely! If there are kids around, I usually make the adult version and the virgin version.
For the virgin version, you simply just blend the fruit, ice and sugar together and pour it into glasses. However, if you want the same flavor that the wine gives, you can substitute the wine for the following non-alcoholic ingredients:
- Ginger ale
- Red or white grape juice
- Apple juice
- Pomegranate juice
WHAT MAKES THIS DRINK FROSTY?
The combination of ice and frozen fruit make this cocktail frosty much like a slushie. It won't frost if you use fresh fruit.
HOW MANY DRINKS DOES THIS RECIPE MAKE?
Well, it depends how full you fill the glasses. This recipe is made with a whole bottle of wine, so you should be able to get about 5 “wine” glasses worth out of each batch. But, it will be less if you’re going heavy on the pour.
