HOW TO BAKE A CAKE IN THE NINJA FOODI:
To make this festive cake in the Foodi, you'll need:
- Box of Funfetti cake mix (15.25 oz.)
- Sprinkles
- Butter
- Salt
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla
- Heavy whipping cream
Once you have your ingredients together, begin preparing the cake mix according to the box instructions.
Using a spatula, fold in the sprinkles.
Pour half the batter into a greased baking pan appropriate for the Ninja Foodi.
Set the Foodi on AIR CRISP at 325° Fahrenheit and bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes before flipping out onto a plate.
Go ahead and repeat the cooking process for the remaining cake batter.
TO PREPARE THE FROSTING
While your cake is baking you will want to make the frosting to have it ready when the cakes are cooled.
To prepare the frosting, begin by beating the butter and salt together for 2 minutes or until fluffy.
Add the powdered sugar 2 cups at a time, mixing it in between.
Add the vanilla and beat well.
Finally, at the heavy whipping cream and mix until frosting is uniform.
Allow the cakes to completely cool before frosting. Spread the frosting on top of the first cake.
Then, place the second cake on top of the first.
Cover the top and sides with frosting.
Then, decorate the top of the cake with sprinkles.
WHAT KIND OF BAKING PAN DO I USE FOR THE NINJA FOODI?
You can use any round pan that fits in your Ninja Foodi. Ninja has their own round cake pans that fit perfectly, but any ones that are similar in size will work as well.
I used this one I found on Amazon.
WHAT'S THE BEST CAKE MIX TO USE?
The great thing about this recipe is that you can use any variety of cake mix that you choose. If you prefer to have a vanilla or chocolate cake, then go for it! The directions stay the same.
HOW DO I STORE LEFTOVERS?
To store your leftover confetti cake, you can either cut the cake into individual slices and place in an airtight container and place in the fridge or you can place the leftover cake in a cake keeper.
You don't necessarily have to keep it in the fridge but if you don't, it will only last for 2 to 3 days on the counter. It will last in the fridge for up to 3 to 5 days.
CAN I FREEZE THE CONFETTI CAKE?
Yes! You can! Place the finished cake in the freezer for an hour to set the frosting. After that, wrap the cake in two layers of plastic wrap followed by a layer of aluminum foil.
The cake can remain frozen for about 3 months. Well, okay, you could probably push it to 4-5 months but the sooner you serve it after freezing, the fresher it will taste.
To enjoy, simply thaw the cake in the fridge and dig in!
