    Ingredients

Gather the ingredients below to make this Easter marshmallow salad!

Ingredients arranged on a white marble surface, including fruity mini marshmallows, lemon gelatin mix, sour cream, sweetened coconut, fruit cocktail, Cool Whip, and colorful bunny Peeps.
    • Lemon jello gives the fluff salad a bright, citrusy flavor base.
    • Cool Whip makes the base light and fluffy.
    • Marshmallow creme makes the base perfectly sweet and creamy.
    • Fruity mini marshmallows bring a chewy texture and fruity taste to the fluff.
    • Sour cream adds a subtle tang to balance out the sweetness.
    • Fruit cocktail (drained) brings the juicy, sweet fruit pieces to the mix.
    • Sweetened shredded coconut adds some crunch and a tropical twist to the fluff salad.
    • Yellow and pink bunny Peeps are the cutest addition to the top of the salad!

See recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

    Substitutions & Variations

    • Cool Whip Alternatives: If you’re not a fan of Cool Whip or want a homemade touch, you can use freshly whipped cream instead. For a dairy-free version, coconut whipped topping works just as well.
    • Marshmallow Fluff Options: If you don’t have marshmallow fluff on hand, try using softened cream cheese for a richer texture, or replace it with an extra cup of Cool Whip to keep it light and airy.
    • Marshmallow Variations: You can use plain white mini marshmallows if you’re not into fruity flavors, or swap them for pastel-colored marshmallows to keep the Easter vibe while dialing down the sweetness.
    • Coconut Substitutes: Not a fan of coconut? Simply leave it out or replace it with mini white chocolate chips or toasted almond slices for a different texture and flavor.
    • Add Some Zing: A splash of pineapple juice or a tablespoon of lime zest can add a bright, citrusy twist to balance out the sweetness.
    • Get Creative with Garnish: Instead of bunny Peeps, you can top the salad with colorful jelly beans, pastel M&M’s, or even chocolate bunnies for a festive presentation.
    • Fruit Cocktail Variations: If you’re looking for a specific fruity flavor for your fluff salad, you can swap out the fruit cocktail for all of a certain fruit. Whether that’s mandarin oranges, peaches, or pineapple tidbits, feel free to customize the portions to your liking!
    • Add Some Crunch: Chopped pecans or walnuts can be a great addition if you're looking for some extra crunch.

    Helpful Tips

    • Make-Ahead: Make this fluff ahead of time if possible. The longer it sits, the better the flavors blend together!
    • Drain Canned Fruit Well: Drain your canned fruit cocktail well to prevent your fluff salad from getting mushy and watered down.
    • Mix Gently: Be gentle when mixing your ingredients, as to not crush your fruits too much and create a mushy consistency.
    • Wait to Garnish: If you are making this recipe a few days in advance, wait to garnish with the Peeps and extra marshmallows until you’re ready to serve.

    Recipe FAQs

How far in advance can I make this Easter salad?

You can make this dessert up to a day or two ahead of time. Just keep it covered in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve!

Can I add nuts or other mix-ins to the salad?

Absolutely! Adding chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts can introduce a delightful crunch. Coconut flakes are another popular addition. Customize the salad to suit your preferences.

Can I substitute fresh fruit for canned fruit?

Yes, fresh fruit can be used instead of canned. For example, fresh mandarin segments can replace canned mandarins. Ensure all fresh fruits are properly peeled, cored, and diced as needed.

What are some fun ways to serve this salad?

This delicious fluff salad can be enjoyed on its own or as a dip! You can serve it in individual cups or pair it with vanilla wafers or graham crackers for a delightful medley of flavors.
