TIPS FOR PRESSURE COOKING A BEEF BRISKET
- Cook the brisket with the fat side facing up. This helps keep the meat moist while cooking. Trim the fat off of the brisket before serving.
- Instead of putting water in the pot, beef broth is another great option to add even more flavor.
- If you want to change up the seasoning on your brisket, rosemary, black pepper, and paprika are all good options that will leave you with a delicious brisket!
ARE POINT OR FLAT CUT BRISKETS BEST?
If you prefer a leaner and more uniform brisket, the flat cut is a good choice. On the other hand, if you enjoy a juicier and more flavorful brisket with extra fat marbling, the point cut is worth considering.
When I'm making a corned beef brisket, I often opt for the point cut, however, for this recipe, I would recommend the flat cut brisket, with its leaner composition, is optimal for pressure cooking and also slices easily for serving.
WHAT SHOULD I SERVE WITH BEEF BRISKET?
This brisket can be served with anything ranging from mashed potatoes to air fried vegetables. It also tastes great when made into brisket sandwiches and served with seasoned french fries.
SHOULD I SHRED OR SLICE BEEF BRISKET?
When it comes to serving beef brisket, you have the option to either slice or shred it.
Slicing involves cutting the brisket into thin, uniform pieces across the grain, making it perfect for standalone dishes or sandwiches.
Shredding, on the other hand, involves pulling the meat apart into smaller, stringy pieces, ideal for dishes like barbecue sandwiches or tacos.
The choice between slicing and shredding depends on personal preference and the intended use of the brisket, allowing you to create a dish that suits your taste and needs.
HOW DO YOU STORE LEFTOVER BEEF BRISKET?
Put the brisket in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, warm the brisket in its leftover juices.
