Baked potatoes in the Ninja Foodi are the perfect side dish for any meal! They are tender and fluffy with a bit of a crispy edge. You can have these easy baked potatoes for dinner in less than 30 minutes.

ARE YOU NEW TO THE NINJA FOODI PRESSURE COOKER?

If you’re a new Ninja Foodi pressure cooker owner and are still getting used to the appliance as well as pressure cooker lingo, check out my Ninja Foodi Beginner’s Guide that offers 30+ pages of tips and tricks to help you master the Ninja Foodi and have you cooking with confidence in no time at all!

HOW TO MAKE BAKED POTATOES IN THE NINJA FOODI:

To make baked potatoes in the Foodi, you'll need:

    • Russet potatoes
    • Water
    • Olive oil
    • Salt & pepper
    • Butter
    • Sour cream
    • Sliced green onions (optional)

Making baked potatoes in your Ninja Foodi is so quick and painless, you’ll be questioning why you ever made them any other way!

    To begin, follow these instructions:

    1. Pour a cup of water into the cooking pot part of the Ninja Foodi.
    2. Place the freshly washed potatoes in the Air Crisp basket inside of the cooking pot.
    3. Select HIGH PRESSURE and cook for 14 minutes. Quick release.
    4. Brush the potatoes with the olive oil so they are all evenly coated.
    5. Sprinkle the oil coated potatoes with salt and pepper.
    6. Select AIR CRISP at 350º Fahrenheit for 5 minutes to crisp up the skins of your seasoned potatoes.

I usually top potatoes with a bit of butter and sour cream and garnish with sliced green onions or parsley. But the list of toppings you can use for potatoes is almost endless!

WHAT TOPPINGS ARE BEST FOR BAKED POTATOES?

Adding toppings to your Ninja Foodi baked potatoes will mainly depend on what you prefer, but the most common toppings are butter and sour cream. Some people really enjoy green onions and cheese as well. Bacon is also a welcomed addition to baked potatoes!

    • Onions
    • Chili
    • Pulled pork or BBQ
    • Fried egg

WHAT POTATOES WORK BEST FOR BAKED POTATOES?

Russet potatoes work best for baked potatoes because the inside softens as they cook while the outside stays somewhat crisp.

Other potatoes fully soften and become more mushy as they cook, making them undesirable for baked potatoes. Russets also make great potato chips!

WHY IS WATER NEEDED WHEN PRESSURE COOKING POTATOES?

As the baked potatoes cook, the water is what makes the inside of the potato soft.

As the water gets hot and creates steam, helping make the insides of the potatoes soft. This is part of the pressure cooking process.

WHY DO I NEED TO PUT THE POTATOES IN THE FOODI BASKET?

You'll want to use the Foodi Air Crisp basket, the rack in lower position or a pressure cooker-safe trivet to set the potatoes on top of. If you allow them to sit in the water on the bottom of the pot, they'll get way too soggy.

I had 3 large baking potatoes. 16 minutes pressure, but they needed 10 minutes more. After oiling and seasoning I air crisped for 6 minutes. They were absolutely the best! Thank you for your recipe!

I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Yes, if they were large potatoes, sometimes it takes more time. Experimenting is the secret to pressure cooking and air frying!
