I promised I would share some healthier recipes in the New Year. Although I love to share desserts and sweets, my goal this year is to focus a bit more on main courses. Why? Because you've told me that's what you want more of!
And I get it. Trying to get dinner on the table every night of the week is a challenge for us all.
Since I've invested in an air fryer and the Ninja Foodi, meal preparation has become much more manageable - especially when I'm unprepared and haven't taken any meat out of the freezer!
Today, we're making salmon in the air fryer. If you're not a big fan of salmon because you think it has a "fishier" taste, you need to try this recipe. It may just convert you.😉
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER SALMON
To make this air fryer salmon, you'll need:
- Salmon fillet
- Olive oil
- Brown sugar
- Soy sauce
- Water
- Salt
- Lemon pepper
- Garlic powder
- Lemon slices
Let me just start by saying this salmon is SUPER easy to prepare.
Begin by cutting the salmon fillet into smaller pieces and place them into a gallon storage bag.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, water, salt, lemon pepper and garlic powder.
Make sure to stir until all of the brown sugar is dissolved. Then, pour the marinade into the storage bag with the salmon.
HOW LONG SHOULD I MARINADE THE SALMON?
You'll want to marinade the salmon for at least two hours to give the seasonings a chance to infuse the fish. If you want maximum flavor, I would recommend marinating the salmon overnight.
When the salmon is done marinating, place the salmon pieces in your greased air fryer basket.
Place the lemon slices on top of the salmon pieces and air fry for 13-15 minutes at 400º Fahrenheit or until salmon is flaky.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN SALMON IS DONE?
Always make sure to have a meat thermometer on hand. Salmon should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145º Fahrenheit.
Make sure to push the tip of the thermometer gently into the thickest part of the salmon.
You can also gently press down on the top of the fillet with a fork. If the salmon flakes, it’s finished cooking. How beautiful is this salmon?!
I promise you, it tastes even better!
This salmon looks and tastes fancy enough to serve to dinner guests. It's pretty much the easiest dinner ever.
I don't know about you, but I don't have a ton of main course recipes that are ready in 15 minutes (not counting the marinating, of course)!
Don't hesitate to make this salmon! You, your family and your guests are going to love it!
