  1. Preheat oven to 400º Fahrenheit.
  2. Melt butter in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in 1 cup sugar.
  4. Pour in pretzels and stir until they are coated.
  5. Spread pretzels out evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until they hold together like toffee. Do not over-bake.
  7. Allow pretzels to cool.
  8. When cool, break pretzels apart into small pieces and set aside.
  9. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until whipped.
  10. Mix in pineapple.
  11. Fold in whipped topping.
  12. Right before serving, stir in 1 1/2 cups pretzels and sprinkle remaining pretzels on top.
